We had our first Thanksgiving this week. We went to KK's house and got to see family. We also go a chance to eat Turkey and Sweet Potatoes with a little bit of baked apple pie!!! (All baby food of course!) When it come to turkey and gravy be itself poor Alex is not a fan! But we tried the mixture of turkey and sweet potatoes together and he loved it! Andy is fine with it by itself or mixed in. He loves to eat!!

We got to spend some time with our cousin Olivia. She played in the floor with us for a while and we had a good time!
After that we went to Uncle Ryan's and Auntie B's house!

That night we went home and one the babies were in bed Mommy left for the night to go shopping with Nona and Auntie B! The boys spent their first night away from Mommy since being home from the NICU. But I knew they were in good hands with their Daddy. They all did very well without me. (I think it was harder on me than them)
This week Andy has been getting better and better at sitting up. When I came home from shopping started sitting up and playing with one of the toys I bought him for Christmas. We caught it on video.

5 months old-week 4

This week the boys did very well trying to get on a schedule. Our day usually started about 7am and then they would eat their oatmeal and fruit with a 4oz milk bottle. The boys would then play on the floor or in their bouncers while I had a chance to eat breakfast myself.
Andy in the bouncer, his bib is a cape now!

At about 8:45 the boys would start to get fussy so we would read a story from "My first Bible Stories" that their G-Daddy J and G-Momma Bee sent them. After that I would change their diapers and lay them down for a nap. Most days they would go right to sleep without fussing but there were some nap times they had to "cry it out" this week. We are still working on getting to that at night but most times they are asleep while eating their last bottle of the day. At 11 they wake up and play a little more. Usually watch their "your baby can read" video and then have another bottle.

Here is a video of Andy trying to sit up in his bouncer while watching his video

At 12:30 we eat a vegetable and then its time for a small book and a nap again at 1 till about 3. Wake up and play some more about 5-5:30 they eat vegetables again and 4oz bottles and they will actually take another 45 min nap. At 6 Daddy comes home and we eat dinner and get ready for our bedtime routine. 7:15 we start baths and then its bottle and bed time by 8pm. Anytime during the day that they want a bottle I give them one. They both are doing very well with the routine for the most part.
Here are some bath time photos!

This week I was able  to catch Andy chewing on his tongue on video! He has been doing this about 2 weeks now and I just think it is so funny!

Alex started shaking his rattle this week! He was so proud of himself.

Now that he can shake his rattle he does it all the time! Him and Andy were on the floor and Andy started laughing at him so we grabbed the camera. Then Andy started to sit up on  his own for a few seconds!

I had a lot of fun being at home with the boys this week. We play most of the day! I did however realize that there is a lot more work involved staying at home verses going to work every day! But they are worth it and it is very special to be able to spend this time with them. I can't believe that the boys will be 6 months old next week! The time sure does fly. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

5 months old-week 3

This week the boys continued making their way through the vegetables. They have now had green beans, peas, squash, carrots and sweet potatoes.  The new fruit this week was applesauce. Both Andy and Alex really like the squash and sweet potatoes. As for fruits they seem to like bananas and applesauce the best. When feeding then they both have their moments where you just can't feed them fast enough. But when they take there time to eat and enjoy it Andrew will now take a bite and say "Mmmmmm" Its so cute. I tried to catch it on video and he stops doing it and starts fussing. This week we have started every morning with oatmeal and fruit mixed in, 1/2-a whole jar a piece of a vegetable for lunch and 1/2 jar a piece of a vegetable at dinner. I have noticed that the boys are not sleeping as well through the night like they used to and I'm wondering if it is since they used to get rice cereal at night before bed and not baby food. So this coming week I may go back to rice cereal at night and maybe mix the food in with it.

This week the boys have played in their toys and on the floor more. Alex loves to stand up so Tim had him standing on the floor next to the exerciser next to Andy and he stayed standing when Tim let go! They are starting to hold toys and bring them to their mouth. They now put everything they can get their hands on in their mouth.

Andy was able to get the ring on his wrist but couldn't get it off!

On Thursday Andrew went to see the urologist. He now weighs enough that we can schedule his surgery for the hypospadias. Dr Mata says that it is very common and that is his very mild. His surgery will be an outpatient procedure. I will keep everyone posted on when it is scheduled.

Uncle Ben and Aunt Mer came to visit us this Saturday! We went out to lunch and went grocery shopping. The rest of the day we hung out at home. The boys were great for most of the day but Sat night they were pretty fussy. We were able to get one good photo of all of them.

Today Andy was taking a nap in his bed and all of a sudden started screaming...I ran in because it sounded like something had scared him. Sure enough it had! He rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back and he didn't know what to do!
He finally rolled over!

This is him happy after I git excited and he saw that it was good thing!
This week is the last week for a while that they will be staying with Aunt Shirlee and Uncle Lyle. Thursday I was laid off from work so I am going to stay home for a while and keep them. Starting Monday we are going to work on getting into a routine. I'm not sure how well it will work but we are going to try!
